ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- One of four remaining suspects in the U of R Kidnapping case appeared in court Thursday.

The attorney for 26-year old Lydell Strickland told the judge that his client has refused to meet with him.

The judge advised Strickland to cooperate with attorney Christian Kennedy.

A total of nine people were arrested in connection with the abduction and torture of two University of Rochester students in December.

Police say the two were held captive inside the Harvest street home for more than forty hours. One of them had been shot in the leg.

A Rochester police SWAT team eventually rescued the pair. Five of the defendants have pleaded guilty.

Strickland, Ruth Lora, Inalia Rolldan and David Alcaraz-Ubiles will be tried together.

That trial is scheduled to begin October 31st.
