A new CDC study finds strong evidence that mask mandates slow the spread of COVID-19, and that indoor dining increases the chance of infections.
The report released Friday looked at counties nationwide under state-issued mask mandates and those that allow both indoor and outdoor restaurant dining.
It also found increases in infections and fatalities in areas where in-person dining is allowed.
The study comes after several states have done away with face-covering mandates and restaurant-capacity limits.
