A small crowd gathered in support of residents and staff at the Villages of Orleans Health and Rehab Center in Albion Friday, where at least 20 people have died from COVID-19.
Residents held signs with positive messages outside the facility, reminding those inside that they are not alone.
A woman we spoke criticized decisions made by administration. She tells us her mother died after being placed in a room with a COVID-19-positive patient.
"She was only there for rehab. She was supposed to have gone back into the community... and never made it back into the community," said Ondrea Pate.
A state health department inspection focused on COVID-19 found no deficiencies at the facility.
