Diet and exercise can be difficult to navigate anytime, especially during social isolation amid the growing threat of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Despite the setback, local experts say people can still stay active and healthy in their homes.
"Even with the spread of the virus they talk about staying hydrated to minimize that, so if you're experiencing any types of symptoms being hydrated is extremely important,” said Dennis Lesniak, a Buffalo-area Nutritionist.
While water doesn't necessarily go bad, food is a different story. One misconception is buying too much or buying food your body may not be used to. The suggestion from experts is to make tiny changes to your diet without going overboard.
"Get frozen vegetables and fruits, that way you can use them at your leisure and you don't have to worry about cramming four pounds of broccoli down your throat the next two days before it spoils,” Lesniak said.
There are some foods that are easily accessible and last a long time, but experts warn that these foods could be packed with syrups and sugars.
In the home, there are simple workouts health experts say people can do to stay healthy.

"Getting up and walking around, if you have the ability to go outside and get some sunshine, moving yourself out of this hunched forward position. Spend some time laying on your chest and opening up your body,” Lesniak said.
In an effort to create positivity, health officials say this could be a great time for self-reflection and growth.
