There is now a timeline for the new Buffalo Bills stadium.
Bills Executive Vice President Ron Raccuia spoke with Spectrum News 1 at the PGA Championship in Rochester. He says a formal groundbreaking for the $1.5 billion stadium is expected to happen in a few weeks.
In addition, work is being done on the property right now and the stadium should be ready for steel inserts early next winter.
"Everything in Western New York gets a little weather dependent, but it's six days a week from now until opening — 36 months from now," said Raccuia. "I think the groundbreaking ceremony is just about set. We're trying to coordinate some schedules, but right now I would anticipate that being the first week of June."
Raccuia says he's excited for Bills fans to experience Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London this upcoming season, which was an inspiration for the new stadium in Orchard Park.
