“I've always, you know, kept in touch with my community. I'm in the community every single day. And at events like this, interacting with people that all want the same thing. And that is a good quality of life for themselves and their families,” said Higgins.

His platform prioritizes boosting American job opportunities in technology with the CHIPS Act, strengthening relations with the Canadian border, ensuring access to affordable prescription drugs and developing Buffalo’s waterfront.

Sams, a 90% disabled veteran, leans on his military service experience in his campaign.

“You know what makes me different is I don't have any special interest. I don't have any corporate backing. It's just me wanting to do something for my community,” said Sams.

He said he prioritizes an affordable cost of living, providing youth services and improving mental health services.

Both candidates will be on the ballot for voters in NY-26 throughout early voting and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.
