A low pressure system over the area gave the five boroughs a gray and wet Saturday, and afternoon temperatures struggled to get out of the 40s. It marked the fourth straight weekend in which rain was recorded in Central Park. We have now seen rain during 11 of the last 15 weekends, going back to the end of September 2018.
Sunday will be much drier and we will likely see some sun, but, winds are expected to increase. Gusts in excess of 35mph are possible in parts of the area. Afternoon temperatures will once again be in the 40s.
Looking ahead, more sunshine is likely Monday morning, but, clouds are expected to increase later in the day. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 30s. Our next storm system makes its way into the region Monday night. Showers are likely early on Tuesday, but, conditions should dry-out for the afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s. Expect brighter and colder conditions Wednesday through Friday.
