William Byron and Hendrick Motorsports took the checkered flag in the NASCAR Go Bowling at The Glen Sunday afternoon.

Byron, in the No. 24 Chevrolet, started second with Denny Hamlin as the pole sitter. But it was Michael McDowell quickly taking the lead and taking the first stage.

Byron grabbed stage two, and never looked back from there. He led 66 laps of the 90 laps in the 220 1/2-mile race.

This is his fifth win of the season, but Byron’s first road course win of his career. He continues Hendrick Motorsports domination at Watkins Glen International.

Sunday’s win makes it five consecutive trips to victory lane for the team. Chase Elliott won in 2018 and 2019. Kyle Larson won in 2021 and 2022.

Next on the schedule is the Coke Zero 400 at Dayton. It’s the final race of the regular season with playoffs getting underway in September.
