The stage is set for the state semifinals, and two Section III football teams are still fighting for those titles after this weekend.

Cicero–North Syracuse was trailing Corning early, but they rallied to take down the Hawks 20-16 in Vestal. The Northstars don't know who their opponent will be yet, because Bennett and McQuaid aren't set to play until at least Tuesday night.

Christian Brothers Academy made easy work of Union-Endicott, blowing out the Tigers on Friday night by a final score of 42-0. The Brothers will face Jamestown, at 6 p.m. on Friday at C-NS.

In Class B, Homer ran into a buzzsaw by the name of Maine-Endwell. The Spartans scored 34 points in the second quarter and rolled to a 48-22 win. With the loss, the Trojans finish out their season with a 9-1 record.

In Class C, Skaneateles and Chenango Forks have had a couple of games come down to the wire over the last few years, but this one did not. Blue Devils running back Jay Haqq found the end zone five times in a 41-28 victory over the Lakers, who finish out their season with a 9-1 record.

In Class D, Dolgeville had a tough time with Tioga on Friday night, dropping their first game of the season by a final score of 50-12.
