The slogan Tampa Cuse is starting to gain traction, and rightfully so.

On Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning clinched their second straight Stanley Cup with help of 24 members who once called Syracuse home.

In fitting fashion, Ross Colton, who played part of the season with Syracuse this year, went on to score the decisive goal for Tampa.

The Syracuse Crunch have become the AHL gold standard for player development, something not lost on the Lightning organization.

On Friday, Syracuse Crunch General Manager Jim Sarosy was back in the 'Cuse after spending the last few days celebrating with the Stanley Cup and the Tampa Bay Lightning, the first opportunity for members of the Crunch to celebrate with their parent club in person.

Last season, Syracuse members could not travel to the NHL bubble due to COVID-19.

The Tampa Bay victory also should provide an opportunity for the Stanley Cup to make a trip to Syracuse. Sarosy believes the Cup will make its northern trek sometime during the next NHL season.
