Motorists should take note of lane and ramp closures in the Syracuse area beginning Tuesday, May 27.
Interstate 81 south will slow to one-lane traffic for bridge work between the on-ramp to I-690 east and Exit 18 (Adams/Harrison streets) in Syracuse from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays through June 6, the state Department of Transportation said.
The DOT also announced the I-481 on-ramp to Exit 6 (Thruway) in DeWitt, will close through June 13 to facilitate paving as part of the I-81 Viaduct project.
Travelers should take I-481 north to Exit 7 (Bridgeport); west on Route 298 to I-481 south; to Exit 6 (Thruway).
As a reminder, fines are doubled for speeding in work zones.
