Imagine waking up on a Thursday morning, and walking outside to over 40 inches of snow.
That was the harsh reality for most of Broome County, following one of the biggest snowfalls in recent memory.

Vehicles were buried and neighbors like John Taylor trudged through waist high snow in the middle of the road to a check on a loved one.
“My sister-in-law lives up around the corner here and I just wanted to make sure her heat vent is open so no CO2 goes back in the house. You’ve got to keep the heat on,” said Taylor.
The dome at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex buckled under the weight of the snow Thursday night. The sports complex has been a popular place to go for more than a decade.

The owners want to rebuild, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover the $120,000 insurance deductible. In less than a day, the fundraiser brought in more than $5,000.
