HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. - The home of world famous April the Giraffe could be welcoming yet another member to its giraffe family.

Johari is showing signs that she could not only be pregnant, but due in the very near future.

"2020 has been a remarkable year thus far, and why not have the unpredictable situation of possibly having a giraffe calf. It elates us, we're excited, the possibility kind of breathes a little bit of new life into the park after what's been a very, very different season," said Jordan Patch, Animal Adventure Park Owner.

But the park finds itself in a unique position as three separate pregnancy tests have proved inclusiveness, even though she's shown a number of signs.

According to owner Jordan Path, Johari and her partner Oliver "made a connection" back in July of 2019.

Typical giraffe pregnancies last 15 months.

"Why we're at this point in September and really questioning whether the tests were accurate is because of the physical changes we're seeing. There is significant growth, we're seeing movement in the belly, she's still thwarting Oliver. They haven't made a connection since July of 2019. These are all signs that would suggest we have a baby on board," said Patch.

Fans of the giraffe family are elated by the news. Joanie Smith traveled all the way from Allentown, Pennsylvania to catch them in person.

"I just love coming here see these giraffes. They make you smile. It's a good place to come. It's away from the hardships and the things we're dealing with. It gives you peace of mind and  they're just beautiful," Smith said.

If you can't make it to the park, there's good news. Beginning this week, the park's live Giraffe Cam 1 will stream inside Johari's barn in the evening hours.

"It's a window of opportunity into our world, and on this journey, that is educational but also entertaining, and what it does is it brings awareness, awareness to giraffes, awareness to the science behind giraffes and ultimately the conservation of giraffes as a species," said Patch.

Animal Adventure Park will host weekly updates Friday mornings at 11.
