There’s no shortage of people making a positive impact while everyone is stuck inside. A man in Elmira is using his talents to bring hope for a healthier future.

On stage, he’s John Lennon, in a Beatles cover band: Beatlegacy Beatlemania and Beyond the Ultimate Experience. At home, he’s Dave Pal.

“It was all about the music always and keeping it alive so we decided well we really should do something what would that be so we thought what's the most moving thing that we know and it's one of the songs that we cover in the show all the time, and that's John Lennon's 'Imagine,' ” said Pal.

Wanting to honor the music he performs, created a re-imagined version of the song.

“Thinking what would he do if he were around, there would certainly be something positive coming from John, and we decided we would do it in the best way that we know how," said Pal.

“We sort of switch up the lyrics a bit, and we say 'we hope someday there will be a vaccine,' and then at the end we say 'one day we know there will be a vaccine,' ” said Pal.

Pal says the song helped write itself. Many of the original lyrics echo what the world is hoping for.

“We really just want them to know that look we will get through this and we’ll get through this together, and we are here for each other no matter what," said Pal.

The band looks forward to when they can play shows once again.

"Imagine, that's all you have to do. That’s all John wanted; that’s all we want. Just imagine," said Pal.
