CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's that time of year again! One where theaters in the Queen City are packed for those popular holiday shows, like The Nutcracker or A Christmas Carol.
However, some parents can't take their kids because the experience is too overwhelming.

According to them, the show is a bit shorter and the intermission is longer. House lights will also remain on, and sound may be recorded and made a bit softer.
Audience members can come and go as they please, and there are designated quiet areas.
Organizers say the changes don't compromise the music that's usually a tradition this time of year.
