A major drug bust in Delaware County ends with seven people in custody.

The sheriff's office raided an apartment on Union Street in the village of Sidney this week to break up a large-scale meth trafficking operation. In addition to the arrests, authorities seized five ounces of fentanyl laced meth with a street value of $15,000.

The sheriff hopes the bust shows that Delaware County won't tolerate drug trafficking.

“I want the drug dealers to understand that,” said Delaware County Sheriff Carig DuMond. “I want them to know that just when they think it’s quiet, it gets hot again. They might as well just pack up and leave and go somewhere else rather than stay here because I have the best and most dedicated employees that any sheriff could ever wish for.”

All seven suspects face drug possession charges, with more charges expected. They're all being held at the Delaware County jail without bail.
