Wilfredo Pica-Torres has been found guilty of killing 61-year-old Victor Banayan and trying to kill Heather Stroup. Pica-Torres was also found guilty of arson after setting the apartment at 109 Walnut Street on fire back in February.

"Obviously the jury returned a verdict of guilty on all accounts. We feel like even though this can't bring back what happened and can't bring back the deceased for his loved ones, it's a little bit of a consolation for them," said Prosecutor Stephanie Milks.

Pica-Torres set 109 Walnut Street on fire and ran to a home on Thorpe Street where he was arrested. It's a case that has taken an emotional toll on everyone involved.

"It hits a lot of people, so you can see how one person's conduct can really affect many," said Milks.

Even with a guilty verdict for Victor's family, Heather Stroup said the pain of him being gone, still carries so much weight. "Victor was...he was really close, we were really close. And I can't have him back. It's not fair," said Stroup.

But Heather doesn't have to walk through life alone anymore. Eight months recovering from drug addiction, she has family by her side.

"I pushed my family away. I pushed a lot of people away. And since being clean, I've been able to repair that relationship with my family," said Stroup.
