Starting the job search can be intimidating whether you've been in a career, working part time, or not at all.

"I was working at cleaning the post offices before this, and that just wasn't as fulfilling,” said Elijah Anderson, who was searching for a job.

The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce offers a semi-annual job fair.

"We have a very low employment rate at four percent right now, which is great. We have more jobs than we have job seekers right now,” said Amy Shaw who works with the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.

These fairs usually see hundreds of resumes.

"We are collecting resumes from all of the job seekers today, we scan them and put them into a searchable database, which goes out to the companies post job fair,” said Shaw.

55 employers were ready to offer applications for a variety of openings.

"It's just a really wide variety of companies and positions that can appeal to anyone,” said Shaw.

If you don't have the background, many will provide the training.

"CDL A driver training, if you don't have your CDL license we would be more than happy to put you through our program. It's a free program, it's a paid training, and just need a 2 year commitment when you're done,” said Ron Nolan with Willow Run Foods.

"We are more looking for who they are as an individual. People who are caring, responsible, and who want to help see these individuals succeed,” said Sean Pass, with Racker.

So you can find your next big, fulfilling, career move.

"I would love to work with older people, especially in the nursing homes, because I feel like a lot of times they don't get the kindness that they deserve so I really want to get into that,” said Anderson.
