BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Construction is moving along well on the more than $2 million Binghamton Gateway Project.

Drivers coming into the city from the Vestal Parkway or leaving via State Street can expect a number of changing traffic patterns. Crews are installing new curbs and sidewalks, bike lanes, pedestrian crossings, and ADA compliant curbing.

New traffic signals and new lighting will also be installed.

The city engineer says the goal is to transform the entrance to the city.

"They're signed very well and people have been cooperating,” said Binghamton engineer Ray Standish. “I don't think my office has had one complaint about the detours. These guys are doing a great job with their traffic control."

The project is expected to be completed in late July or early August.
