A brand new manufacturing plant is now up and running in Chemung County.
The plant in Horseheads is owned and operated by Rochester-based EkoStinger. They specialize in an aerodynamic part used to help emission reduction and fuel economy for tractor trailers.
EkoStinger's new plant comes after the company won $1 million in the state's 76West Clean Energy Competition.
“We only won it five months ago; we’ve already opened up the plant here. We have new equipment coming in. We got six new employees that number is going to grow to about 20 in the next two years. But it’s been great” said Parr Wiegel, EkoStinger CEO and Co-Founder.
EkoStinger's plant sits right near the 2016 grand prize winner, Micatu.
