JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -- The Greater Binghamton Airport is touting its first increase in passengers since 2010.

Last year, flights were on average, 80% full. That's the highest number in nearly ten years.

BGM also saw a 14.5% increase of enplanements in 2018. That's more than 4,000 more passengers than the year before.

Aviation commissioner Dave Hickling is linking the success to the recent partnership with Greater Binghamton businesses.

The program includes a commitment for any participating business to use the airport when traveling.

He says the recent success could lead to bigger things in the future.

"When they see this increase and the Binghamton service performing, it opens their eyes. They see that the community is willing to support the service that they have there and it makes it more attractive for them," said Dave Hickling, Greater Binghamton Airport Aviation Commissioner.

The Greater Binghamton Airport offers two Delta flights a day to Detroit.
