One Binghamton business owner says his dreams may be melting away.

Scoopy Dooby's ice cream opened for the first time at Trucks on the Tracks. It's the only ice cream shop in downtown Binghamton, but it might not be there for long.

Owner Mark Yonaty says he hasn't received the support he was hoping for from the city. He's alleging an abuse of power in the city's service department but won't go into details.

The bottom line for customers - Scoopy Dooby's is open for now, but it may not last.

"If the doors are closed here then I will not be in the ice cream business. Again, this is serving a purpose in the downtown market, so it's been done and at this point I'm going to explore my options and will re-visit it in the next week or so. We're coming at the end of ice cream season anyways, so we will see what happens," said Yonaty.

We reached out to The Mayor's office and were told the City and Mayor are very supportive of Yonaty and are working with him on multiple projects across Binghamton.
