BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Families on the west side take can a deep breath. The Boa constrictor that was reported missing has been found.

Its owner, Brian Kaminsky tells us his six and a half foot long pet named Bella was found under his sink cabinet, right inside his apartment.

The red tail constrictors’ escape caused quite a stir when it was reported missing Tuesday.

Broome County 911 dispatchers were flooded with calls from worried neighbors.

According to the D.E.C., the boa wasn't really a danger to adults, but they did advise parents to keep their children and animals away from the area.

Kaminsky says he hopes to end any misconceptions the public might have about the safety of snakes

"She's a big baby. Just because she's a big snake, that doesn’t mean she's going to come out and eat you alive. She's not a harbor of doom and destruction. She's just a legless lizard really," said Brian Kaminsky , Boa Constrictor Owner.

Kaminsky says he has upgraded that enclosure with childproof locks, to make sure the constrictor doesn't escape again.
