Local law enforcement officers are walking a different kind of beat, all to raise money for a good cause.
Thursday was Law and Orders night at Tully’s locations from Watertown to the Southern Tier.
Officers joined Special Olympics athletes to become servers and hostesses for the evening.
Some of the money from every tender dinner sold will support Special Olympics New York.
Those participating say it's an amazing feeling to be able to give back to the community.
"We have a bunch of athletes here like Stephen that’ll come help us and they're helping themselves and it's a great program and we love doing it,” said Chittenango Police Chief Fred Corey.
The event kicks off a month-long fundraiser for the Special Olympics at Tully's.
