UNION, N.Y. -- Another courtroom battle is coming in the Town of Union, as Rose Sotak sues her own town board and other unnamed defendants.

The supervisor says she was discriminated against during an investigation into her conduct while supervisor.

Union's investigation claimed she verbally harassed and threatened town employees.

She's now seeking $500,000 in damages for lost income and attorney fees.

According to court papers, the town supervisor claims the board was motivated at least in part, because she's a woman.

Sotak did not return our request for comment, but councilman Frank Bertoni says he was shocked when he learned of the suit.

"For me, I think it's more of the same from what we saw with our employees. It's intimidation, it's trying to bully us into giving her a half a million dollars and we're not going to do it. I'm going to fight this to the end. We've done absolutely nothing wrong," said Frank Bertoni, (R) Town of Union Councilman.

Sotak was indicted on a felony charge last April for allegedly threatening town employees to influence votes.

A judge later threw out the indictment, citing insufficient evidence and the impaired integrity of a jury.
