The Owego man found not guilty after four murder trials is lashing out at state police once again.

Cal Harris had his license suspended in Preble town court after being charged with DWI last month. It stems from a 911 call that was made from a driver in Cortland County last month.

They claim a white pickup truck had struck them on Interstate 81 and drove away. When police later pulled over the truck, Harris was behind the wheel. He was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Investigators say his blood alcohol content was 0.13, which also led to the DWI charge.

But Harris told Spectrum News a much different story. He admits to having a few drinks, hours before the incident, but says he never hit the vehicle. Harris claims it was actually the caller who was driving erratically and cutting people off.

After passing, he says he was later pulled over in Homer. But Harris claims there was no damage to his truck, and his arrest was completely unjust.

"I'm confident that the evidence will show that there's no wrongdoing on my part and in my opinion, this is just another attempt at Troop C to get even with me what's happened over the last 16 years," Harris said.

Harris will be back in court on February 13. He claims his dashcam footage captured the entire incident, but says it's currently in possession of the state police.
