BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Students attending SUNY Broome Community College could see a future at Cornell University.
They've signed an agreement that will allow SUNY Broome students who meet certain academic standards to transfer into the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell.
The students will be able to receive a bachelor's degree in either food science, or food operations and management.
SUNY Broome's president says although the school has other transfer agreements, this is the first one with an Ivy League school.
"This really puts a banner out there telling the world that you can get a world-class education here at SUNY Broome,” said SUNY Broome President Kevin Drumm.
The program will begin in the fall.
