With a new year comes some new state laws to remember.

Beginning January 1, mothers who breastfeed will now have more time to feed at work.

The new law requires employers to provide women with reasonable unpaid breaks each day to nurse three years following pregnancy.

Federal law requires only one year.

Veterans living in the state will also be receiving more tax exemptions.

Beginning Saturday, local governments will be required to increase the limits of their real property tax exemptions for veterans.

And one law set to kick in later this month will help law enforcement officials when it comes to missing children.

Investigators will get expedited access to Child Protective Services records, if there is reason to believe that parent or guardian is the subject of child abuse report.
