SCHOHARIE, N.Y. --It was a shortened day of testimony, but that didn't mean an early end to the week for the Cal Harris trial.

Harris is accused of killing his wife Michele in 2001.

The defense cross-examined Michele's friend, Cindy Turner, Thursday morning.

They mainly pointed out what they call inconsistencies with testimony she gave at the two previous trials for Harris.

Testimony then wrapped up in the early afternoon because a juror's son was involved in an accident.

Following that, there was a hearing to decide if the defense can introduce evidence and testimony that would implicate another person in Michele Harris' disappearance.

The defense claims Stacey Stewart knew Michele through her waitressing job and was obsessed with her.

They're alleging Stewart and another man were involved in her disappearance, and that he might have buried her under a garage on his property.

According to the defense, Stewart previously admitted to burning bloody clothing the day after Michele was last seen.

Stewart and the other man both currently live in Texas, and there is a subpoena out for Stewart.

The prosecution will have the chance to argue against the motion on Monday.

The judge is expected to make a ruling sometime next week.
