Anchor

Solomon is an Associated Press award-winning and Emmy-nominated news anchor who was born and raised in New York’s Capital Region and has been a proud member of the Spectrum News team since February 2010.

Solomon has driven our coverage of several major stories, including the installation of Albany Diocese Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, the 2015 Dannemora Prison Break and on-site anchoring of Syracuse's trip to the 2016 Final Four in Houston. A well-rounded journalist, he's also reported on everything from Tropical Storm Irene, to New York Giants' training camp, to former State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno's federal criminal appeal in New York City.

A Niskayuna native, Solomon graduated with honors from Boston University with a degree in political science, before receiving his juris doctor, also with honors, from the Quinnipiac University School of Law. He couldn't resist a return to Boston, where he graduated with distinction from BU's graduate broadcast journalism program, while also spending time as a political correspondent in Washington, D.C. There he reported for several television news outlets, including WENY based in Elmira, N.Y., WSEE in Erie, Pa., and Cox Television. Solomon covered all the bases on Capitol Hill, from interviewing then-California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger at the White House, to covering President Obama’s first health care reform speech to Congress in September 2009.

When he's not reporting on the stories that matter to you, Solomon's either spending time with his family, enjoying a good cheeseburger, or rooting on his beloved Yankees, Knicks, Rangers and Patriots.
