CATAWBA CO., N.C. — A 4-year-old girl is dead, and two children are in the hospital after a car crash Thursday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
It happened on Boggs Road in Catawba County during heavy rain conditions, the release said.
The driver of one car crossed the centerline and crashed head-on with another. A woman, a 4-year-old and 12-year-old were sent to the hospital, but the youngest died from her injuries. The 12-year-old was still in the hospital, according to the release.
Charges haven’t been ruled out, and impairment wasn’t a factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
