LUMBERTON, N.C. -- Residents in Lumberton are worried about finances now that lot fees have increased at several mobile home parks.
- Time Out Communities became owners of 22 mobile home parks in Robeson County in January 2019.
- Since then, lot fees have more than doubled.
- Neighbors said the company isn't keeping up with maintenance and it's hard to get a hold of anyone.

Spectrum News talked to a woman who said she can't afford higher rent. Resident Shirley Pittman is making sure other bills get paid.
"Since I'm paying my regular payment at $210 per month, I'm sort of worried they're going to come to me and say I owe them back rent," Pittman said. "And it's not right."
In a statement, a spokesperson for Time Out Communities said:
Rental rates have only been raised consistent with current market rates in the Robeson County/Lumberton, NC market. Time Out is presently overseeing projects injecting over $10 million in capital improvements and community services.
