CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mark Harris has revealed why his public presence has been reduced lately.

According to a post on his Facebook page, the pastor and still-candidate for North Carolina’s ninth congressional district announced he has been suffering from a rare form of digestive infection called diverticulitis.

Harris says he has been receiving top-notch care for his condition, and thanked the public for their ongoing support.

An investigation into potential election fraud has stalled the decision for the ninth congressional election, which Harris originally won, for months. His seat remains unfilled in congress.

Harris was not present at a court hearing earlier in the month because of this illness.
