GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Steven Mackie is charged in the shooting deaths of two people.

Authorities say they received a call about a shooting at a home on Elm Avenue just before 6 a.m. Friday morning. There they found 27-year-old Keith Presnell and 25-year-old Kathryn McCloud shot to death.

"I opened my blinds, that's when I saw all that commotion down the neighborhood. Car after car, police after police," one neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous said.

Mackie is the owner of the home. He was taken into custody there and charged with counts of murder.

While the sheriff's office hasn't confirm a motive or relationship between the suspect and the deceased, neighbors tell us that Mackie is Mccloud's uncle.

Authorities are still investigating as Mackie remains at the Wayne County jail without bond.
