It may be the second day of October, but there is no need to pull out your jacket just yet.  Cooler weather is not expected for at least the next week or two.

With a mix of sun and clouds, Tuesday's temperatures will warm to the mid 80s across central North Carolina.

Afternoon temperatures will likely be even a little warmer for the second half of this week.  Highs in the mid to upper 80s are forecast from Wednesday through Friday.  Some locations in the Sandhills could hit 90 on Thursday and Friday.

Early morning temperatures will also be getting a bit warmer through the week.  Lows in the mid 60s to near 70 are forecast for the next several days.

Average highs are in the mid to upper 70s by this point in the year with average lows in the mid 50s.   The long range forecast suggests we will continue to see above average temperatures most days for at least the next two weeks.

Our next chance for any rain will just be a 30% chance for a few afternoon or evening storms Friday and Saturday.
