RALEIGH, N.C. -- GlaxoSmithKline plans to lay off 100 workers at its facility in Research Triangle Park.
- One hundred jobs affected at RTP location.
- Layoffs in NC are part of national downsizing.
- Employees will most likely leave by November.
The pharmaceutical company says its part of a downsizing plan and 650 positions in all will be eliminated nationwide.
The RTP layoffs will come from the company's sales department.
The company says the employees being let go will be given a 60 day notice and severance benefits.
Employees were notified Wednesday, and most will leave by November.
GlaxoSmithKline employs 15,000 people in the United States.
