Newly-released search warrants show police got a tip that Steven Purnell, 41, was selling marijuana at the restaurant.
Police then setup a sting operation with an undercover officer. Court documents reveal between July and August, Purnell sold the pot to the cop four times. The drug deals took place in the take-out parking lot and the men's bathroom.
“I think that's awful. That's awful. Probably will have to find somewhere else to be eating,” said Jennifer Evans, who shops at the nearby Streets at Southpoint mall.
Police arrested Purnell on multiple drug charges on Aug. 8. Officers searched the restaurant and Purnell's home, where they say he also made drug deals with the undercover cop. Police seized several items including cash, drug paraphernalia, and shotgun shells from his home.
Purnell is currently out on bond. He's set to go back to court in October.
