RALEIGH, N.C. -- A judge ordered the release of dash cam video Thursday involving former SHP Trooper Michael Blake. One involved an incident in August 2016 while the other occurred in March of this year.
- Blake is facing charges in the April beating of Kyron Hinton in Raleigh
- Video shows Blake pulling a woman from her car in March, and another where a victim had to be taken to the hospital after an altercation
- Further charges could possibly stem from these incidents
Blake is currently facing charges in the April beating of Kyron Hinton in Raleigh.
"There's been a significant amount of coverage on this and there is great public interest in the release of these videos," said attorney Michael Tadych on Thursday.
In the video from March, former Trooper Michael Blake can be seen pulling Kimberly Ingram from her car, asking why she didn't pull over when he tried to stop her.
The August 2016 footage shows Raphael Rogers being pulled over for speeding. While his car is being searched, an altercation takes place off camera.
Later in the video, Rogers is seen on a stretcher and was taken to the hospital where he remained for several days.
Blake's attorneys asked the judge not to release the videos on Thursday.
"It's a situation where it could poison potential jurors and so in the final analysis, once it's out there, this day in age, everybody can be an editor. We think the dangers in this situation are great," said Hart Miles, Blake's attorney.
Ultimately, Judge Graham Shirley allowed the video to be released.
"Given the size of this county, that we would be able to obtain a jury that can be fair and impartial," he said.
During the hearing, DA Lorrin Freeman said further charges could possibly stem from these incidents.
