RALEIGH, N.C. -- Strong thunderstorms from early Monday and over the weekend wreaked havoc on some parts of Central North Carolina.

- Duke Energy confirms more than 4,000 people were left without power at one point.

In Princeton, limbs of a massive tree fell near a home on Floors Street. The limbs missed the home, luckily.
Similar damage was also reported in Wayne County where numerous power outages were reported.
Downed trees were also reported on North Buchanan Avenue near Green Street in Durham. No injuries were reported.
Sunday, storms knocked down a tree near the intersection of Fanny Brown Road and Banks Road in Raleigh.
Trees were also reported down along Kennebec Church Road near the Harnett-Wake County line.
One family was inside a home when a tree fell on it, and say they would have died if they didn't hear the storm coming.
"I'm just thankful nobody was hurt. At one point, I didn't know if we were going to make it out. It was sounding that bad. We didn't know which way to go. You could just hear it and you could feel the roof of the house crackling," said resident Stephanie Carpenter.
Multiple trees were also reported down near NC Highway 42 in southeastern Wake County.
