RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kroger will close a Raleigh store on Tuesday, just weeks before shutting the doors on the remaining 13 stores in the area.

  • Store on Creedmoor Road is closing early at the request of Crunch Fitness, who bought out the store.
  • Employees from the store will be transferred to other locations.
  • All Kroger stores in the Raleigh-Durham area will officially close on Aug. 14.

The store, located at 6300-150 Creedmoor Road, is closing early so Crunch Fitness, which bought out the store, can move in.

Kroger has stated that employees from the Creedmoor Road store will be transferred to other Kroger stores in the market.

All Kroger stores in the Raleigh-Durham area will officially close on Aug. 14.

According to the grocery chain, a total of 1,652 people are expected to lose their jobs.

As of now, many of the Kroger stores in the area are expected to become Harris Teeters.

However, reps say there is no guarantee those losing their jobs will be able to find one at these new stores.
