GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Authorities say a woman was killed when she hit a tree with her car after leaving the scene of a wreck in Greensboro.

  • Victim was driving in wrong lane with no headlights.
  • Fled scene of the crash until hitting a tree.
  • She died at the scene.

Greensboro police say that Marssteller Armstrong was driving in the wrong lane and with no headlights on Saturday night when she hit another driver.

Police say Armstrong fled the scene "at a high rate of speed" and hit a tree a half-mile later.

The car rolled upside down and was found in a churchyard.

Authorities say Armstrong died at the scene.

Officials say this is still an ongoing investigation.
