RALEIGH -- The Raleigh man accused of killing a man in a wrong-way crash now faces new charges.
The State Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Jesus Alvarado-Velez was arrested early Sunday morning after driving the wrong way on Knightdale Boulevard while intoxicated.
Velez now faces felony death by vehicle charges in addition to driving while impaired, driving the wrong way, felony by serious injury by vehicle, open containers and driving without a license.
Authorities say Leroy Owens was killed in the crash.
His wife, Lakeatia Owens, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
