The baseball committee for Fayetteville's City Council held a public hearing on Tuesday to discuss the proposal to build a baseball stadium in the downtown area. Five meetings had been scheduled for this week but after Tuesday's meeting, the other scheduled meetings were cancelled and the committee members indicated strong support for the proposal.

FAYETTEVILLE -- The City Council has held several public meetings to discuss a proposal to build a baseball stadium in the downtown area. On Tuesday, that committee quickly went into a closed session that lasted for over two hours.
