RALEIGH - During the 6th annual Dentistry From The Heart event at Cary Family Dental, Dr. Allan Acton and a team of dentists and volunteers will provide free cleanings, extractions and fillings to adults 18 and over with a valid ID.  In years past they've treated hundreds of patients, many lining up overnight in hopes of receiving treatment.  Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

With more than 114 million Americans lacking dental insurance right now, Dr. Acton expects more than 300 community members at the event this year.  Each year his practice donates more $60,000 worth of free dental care.  The event also includes music, refreshments and giveaways provided by local businesses sponsoring the event.

Dentistry From The Heart is a nonprofit organization founded in New Port Richey, Florida in 2001. The organization coordinates more than 300 events a year in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Puerto Rico and New Zealand.  The mission of Cary Family Dental they say is to provide state of the art dentistry and excellent customer service to the growing population of Wake County in a way that makes coming to the dentist enjoyable.

The 6th annual Dentistry From The Heart event takes place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Cary Family Dental, located at 1149 Kildaire Farm Road.  Visit their website or facebook page for more information.
