Looking to take it easy after the Thanksgiving meal? Or do you just need some calming noises to help soothe you after all the Black Friday shopping?

Netflix has the answer - and it has its roots in the earliest days of television history.

"Fireplace for Your Home" is three hourlong episodes of footage of a crackling fireplace. The footage is accompanied by Christmas songs and festive melodies.

It's the streaming service's answer to the "Yule Log," a tradition that began in 1966 by WPIX-TV in New York City.

Another option for those needing something relaxing on the screen is "SlowTV."

"SlowTV" has been a television staple for Norwegian viewers since 2009, and there are eight episodes available on Netflix for you to sample.

Among them are "Train Ride - Bergen to Oslo," a 7-and-three-quarter hour journey, the first "SlowTV" special, "National Knitting Night," 8.5 hours of folks knitting afghans, clothing and other items from freshly-shorn wool (also performed in front of the cameras), and "National Firewood Morning," whick takes the Yule Log concept a step further by offering you tips on cutting your own firewood.

Both "SlowTV" and "Fireplace for Your Home" are available year-round on Netflix.
