High pressure aloft will still have a hold on us as we begin our work week.
Monday will be only slightly “cooler” than Sunday. Air temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s with “feels like” Heat Index values as high as 105 degrees during the afternoon. Anyone exposed to the heat will be at risk for heat illness.
Protect yourself and your family from the heat by drinking lots of water, wearing appropriate clothing, and taking frequent breaks to cool off in an air-conditioned room.
Beginning Tuesday, a very stormy pattern sets up for much of the Lone Star State. Severe storms and flooding rain will be possible, even likely, through Friday.
