After a quiet day, a weak system will drop in this evening bringing scattered snow showers. Amounts will be between 1-2” near the lake but will be very minimal further inland. This will have little to no impact on the region aside from a few slick spots. Lows will fall into in the 20s.

Tomorrow will be brighter with some sun and highs in the mid to upper 30s. Late in the day, cloud cover will increase ahead of our next weather maker. That will arrive Wednesday night  and continue into Thursday morning bringing snow, sleet, and even rain for some. Most will pick up 2 to 6” of accumulation. For that reason, winter weather advisories have been issued for Niagara, Orleans, Northern Erie, and Genesee counties from 10 PM Wednesday – 10 AM Thursday.

Temps will turn colder Thursday after an early morning high temperature in the low to mid 30s. Snow showers will likely switch over to the lake effect variety by evening and carry on through Friday. Bitter cold will arrive Friday with limited lake snow showers around. Highs will only be in the teens, lows will fall below zero.

The bitter cold will be short lived with some sun Saturday and highs back up around 30. We’ll get back into the mid to upper 30s Sunday with 40s and possibly some 50s by early next week.
