CHARLOTTE -- The storms that swept across the region Wednesday night left behind quite a bit of damage.
At least three trees fell across Queens Road West in the Myers Park neighborhood.
They blocked the road for hours, forced drivers to find alternate routes and caused an obstacle course for dozens of runners, walkers and bikers.
One woman who's lived there for 12 years, say she's never seen damage like this.
"Just the sheer magnitude of the stump sticking out like that, super impressive. Not just one tree, but several. I'm just glad there was an empty lot across the street and it didn't injure anyone or fall on a house," said Beth Susi who lives in Myers Park.
Charlotte Water says the downed trees caused a water main break also on Queens Road West.
The outbound lanes will be closed most of the day.
No one was hurt.
