NORTH CAROLINA -- Deborah Ross is the victor of Tuesday's Democratic U.S. Senate primary.
Ross beat out Spring Lake mayor Chris Rey, Durham businessman Kevin Griffin and retired captain Ernest Reeves.
Ross was a heavy favorite to win the Democratic primary.
Incumbent Senator Richard Burr is also walking away a winner after winning Tuesday's Republican U.S. Senate primary.
Senator Burr beat out a trio of challengers including Dr. Greg Brannon, who mounted a serious campaign against the two-time senator.
