Another weekend is here, and it’s still raining outside across upstate New York.
Spectrum News 1 recently reported that some areas, including Syracuse, Albany, and parts of the Adirondacks, haven't had a dry weekend in six months.
The New York State Weather Risk Communication Center at UAlbany explored when Albany last saw the sun on a Saturday, and then it just spiraled from there.
In fact, in some areas of the state, less than half of the year so far has been dry.
“There have only been 42 dry days in Albany since the start of the year,” Alison Finch from the NYS Weather Risk Communication Center at UAlbany said. “Up in Saranac Lake, there’s only been 27 dry days. It could be worse.”
As for the reason behind the wet weekends so far?
Experts tell Spectrum News 1 that it is primarily due to bad luck — the weather patterns just so happen to be falling on weekends right now.
